⁵The beast was given a mouth to utter boasts and blasphemies.^(A) It was allowed to exercise authority^[a]^[b] for forty-two months.^(B) ⁶It began to speak^[c] blasphemies against God: to blaspheme his name and his dwelling—those who dwell in heaven.
