ساؤل کے خاندان پر آفتیں
4 ساؤل کا بیٹا ( اشبوست ) نے سنا کہ ابنیر حبرون میں مر گیا۔ اشبوست اور اس کے لوگ بہت ڈرگئے۔ 2 دو آدمی ساؤل کے بیٹے (اشبوست ) سے ملنے گئے یہ دو آدمی فوج کے سپہ سالار تھے یہ ریکاب اور بعنہ تھے۔ جو بیروت رمون کے بیٹے تھے وہ بنیمین تھے کیوں کہ شہر بیروت بنیمین کے خاندانی گروہ کا تھا۔ 3 لیکن بیروت کے تمام لوگ جتیم کو بھاگ گئے اور وہ آج تک وہیں رہتے ہیں۔
4 ساؤل کے بیٹے یونتن کاایک بیٹا تھا جس کانام مفیبوست تھا۔ وہ لڑکا پانچ سال کا تھا جب یزر عیل سے خبر آئی کہ ساؤل اور یونتن مار دیئے گئے۔ جس عورت نے مفیبوست کی دیکھ بھال کی تھی ڈر گئی کہ دشمن آرہے تھے اس لئے وہ اس لڑکے کو اٹھا یا اور لے کر بھاگ گئی۔ لیکن بھاگتے وقت لڑکا گر گیا اور اس وجہ سے وہ دونوں پیروں سے معذور ہو گیا۔
5 ریکاب اور بعنہ جو بیروت کے رمّون کے بیٹے تھے دو پہر میں اشبوست کے گھر گئے اشبوست آرام کر رہا تھا کیوں کہ گرمی تھی۔ 6-7 ریکاب اور بعنہ گھر میں اس طرح آئے جیسے وہ کچھ گیہو ں لینے جا رہے ہوں اشبوست اپنے سونے کے کمرہ میں بستر پر لیٹا تھا۔ریکاب اور بعنہ نے اشبوست کو چھُرا گھونپا اور مار ڈا لا۔ تب انہوں نے اس کا سر کاٹ لیا اور اپنے ساتھ لے گئے انہوں نے ساری رات یردن کی وادی کے راستے سے سفر کیا۔ 8 وہ حبرون پہنچے اور انہوں نے داؤد کو اشبوست کا سر دیا۔
ریکاب اور بعنہ نے داؤد سے کہا ، “یہاں آپ کے دشمن اشبوست ساؤل کے بیٹے کا سر ہے۔ اس نے تم کو مارڈالنے کی کوشش کی تھی۔خداوند نے ساؤل کو اور اس کے خاندان کو آج آپکی خاطر سزا دی۔”
9 لیکن داؤد نے ریکاب اور اس کے بھائی بعنہ سے کہا ، “جہاں تک یقین ہے خداونددائمی ہے اس نے مجھے تمام مصیبتوں سے بچا یا ہے۔ 10 لیکن ایک شخص نے سوچا تھا کہ وہ میرے لئے اچھی خبر لا ئے گا اس نے مجھ سے کہا ، ’دیکھو ساؤل مر گیا ‘ اس نے سوچا تھا کہ میں اسے اس خبر کو لانے کی وجہ سے انعام دو ں گا لیکن میں نے اس آدمی کو پکڑا اور صقلاج میں مارڈا لا۔ 11 اس لئے میں تمہیں ضرور مارونگا دیکھو تم نہیں رہو گے کیوں کہ تم بُرے لوگوں نے بستر پر سو ئے ہو ئے ایک اچھے آدمی کو مار ڈا لا۔ تمہیں اس قتل کی سزا ضرور ملے گی۔”
12 اس لئے داؤد نے نوجوان سپا ہیوں کو حکم دیا کہ ریکاب اور بعنہ کو مار ڈا لو نوجوان سپا ہیو ں نے ان لوگوں کو مار ڈا لا اور ان کے ہا تھ اور پا ؤں کاٹ ڈا لے اور ان کو حبرون کے چشمے پر لٹکا دیا تب انہوں نے اشبوست کا سر لیا اور اس کو اسی جگہ دفن کیا جہاں حبرون میں ابنیر کو دفن کیا گیا تھا۔

Ish-Bosheth Murdered
4 When Ish-Bosheth son of Saul heard that Abner(A) had died in Hebron, he lost courage, and all Israel became alarmed. 2 Now Saul’s son had two men who were leaders of raiding bands. One was named Baanah and the other Rekab; they were sons of Rimmon the Beerothite from the tribe of Benjamin—Beeroth(B) is considered part of Benjamin, 3 because the people of Beeroth fled to Gittaim(C) and have resided there as foreigners to this day.
4 (Jonathan(D) son of Saul had a son who was lame in both feet. He was five years old when the news(E) about Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel. His nurse picked him up and fled, but as she hurried to leave, he fell and became disabled.(F) His name was Mephibosheth.)(G)
5 Now Rekab and Baanah, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, set out for the house of Ish-Bosheth,(H) and they arrived there in the heat of the day while he was taking his noonday rest.(I) 6 They went into the inner part of the house as if to get some wheat, and they stabbed(J) him in the stomach. Then Rekab and his brother Baanah slipped away.
7 They had gone into the house while he was lying on the bed in his bedroom. After they stabbed and killed him, they cut off his head. Taking it with them, they traveled all night by way of the Arabah.(K) 8 They brought the head(L) of Ish-Bosheth to David at Hebron and said to the king, “Here is the head of Ish-Bosheth son of Saul,(M) your enemy, who tried to kill you. This day the Lord has avenged(N) my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”
9 David answered Rekab and his brother Baanah, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, “As surely as the Lord lives, who has delivered(O) me out of every trouble, 10 when someone told me, ‘Saul is dead,’ and thought he was bringing good news, I seized him and put him to death in Ziklag.(P) That was the reward I gave him for his news! 11 How much more—when wicked men have killed an innocent man in his own house and on his own bed—should I not now demand his blood(Q) from your hand and rid the earth of you!”
12 So David gave an order to his men, and they killed them.(R) They cut off their hands and feet and hung the bodies by the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ish-Bosheth and buried it in Abner’s tomb at Hebron.
