यरूसलेम पइ हमले क आतंक
4 लखा, कउने तरह सोना चमक रहित होइ गवा।
लखा, सारा सोना कइसे खोट होइ गवा।
चारिहुँ कइँती हीरा-जवाहरात बिखड़ा पड़ा अहइँ।
हर गली क सिर पइ इ सबइ रतन पसरा अहइँ।
2 सिय्योन क लोग अइसे ही मुल्यवान रहेन,
जइसे ओनका वजन सोना क बराबर रहा।
किन्तु अब ओनके संग दुस्मन अइसे बर्ताव करत हीं
जइसे उ पचे कोमहार क बनाए माटी क पात्र होइँ।
3 हिआँ तलक कि सियार भी आपन बच्चन क थन देत ह,
उ आपन बच्चन क दूध पिअइ देत ह।
किन्तु मोर लोग निर्दय होइ ग अहइँ।
उ पचे अइसे होइ गएन जइसे मरुभूमि मँ निवासी-सुतुर्मुग।
4 पिआस क मारे
आबोध गदेलन क जीभ तालु स चिपकति अहइ।
इ सबइ नान्ह लरिकन रोटी क तरिसत हीं।
किन्तु कउनो भी ओनका कछू भी खाई क बरे देत नाहीं।
5 अइसे लोग जउन सुआदिस्ट भोजन खावा करत रहेन,
आजु भूख स गलियन मँ मरत अहइँ।
अइसे लोग जउन उत्तिम ओढ़ना पहिरत भए पले बढ़े रहेन,
अब कुड़न क ढेरन पइ बिनत फिरत अहइँ।
6 मोरे लोगन क पाप
सदोम अउ अमोरा क पापन स बड़ा रहा।
सदोम अउ अमोरा क एकाएक नस्ट कीन्ह गवा।
ओनके बिनासे मँ कउनो भी मानव क हाथ नाहीं रहा।
7 यहूदा क लोग
परमेस्सर क समर्पित रहेन,
उ पचे बरफ स उज्जर रहेन,
दूधे स धोवा रहेन।
ओनकर तन मूँगा स जियादा लात रहिन।
ओनकर डाढ़ी नीलम स करिया रहिन।
8 किन्तु ओनकर मुहँ अब धुआँ स करिआ होइ गवा अहइँ।
हिआँ तलक कि गलियन मँ ओनका कउनो भी नाहीं पहिचान सकत ह।
ओनकर ठठरी पइ अब झुर्रियन पड़ि गइ अहइँ।
ओनकर चाम अब लकड़ी जइसा होइ गवा अहइ।
9 अइसे लोग जेनका तरवारे क घाट उतावा गवा ओनसे जियादा भाग्गवान रहेन
जउन लोग भूख-मरी क मउत मरेन।
खइया क कमी स मरिइ स
खून क कमी स मरि जान बहतर अहइ
10 ओन दिन अइसी मेहररुअन भी जउन बहोत अच्छी हुवा करत रहिन,
आपन ही बच्चन क माँस पकाए रहिन।
उ सबइ गदेलन आपन महतारी क आहार बनेन।
अइसा तब भवत रहा जब मोरे प्रिय लोगन क बिनास भवा रहा।
11 यहोवा आपन सब किरोध क प्रयोग किहेस;
आपन समूचा किरोध उ उड़ेर दिहस।
सिय्योन मँ जउन आग भड़काएस,
सिय्योन क नेवन क खाले तलक बार दिहे रहेन।
12 जउन कछू घटा रहा, धरती क कउनो भी राजा क ओकर बिस्सास नाहीं रहा।
जउन कछु घटा रहा, धरती क कउनो भी लोगन क ओकर बिस्सास नाहीं रहा।
यरूसलेम क दुआरन स होइके कउनो भी दुस्मन भीतर आइ सकत ह,
एकर कउनो क भी बिस्सास नाहीं रहा।
13 किन्तु अइसा ही भवा,
काहेकि यरूसलेम क नबी लोग पाप किहे रहेन।
अइसा भवा काहेकि यरूसलेम क याजक
बुरे काम किया करत रहेन।
यरूसलेम क नगर मँ
उ पचे नीक लोगन क खून बहावा करत रहेन।
14 याजक अउ नबी गलियन मँ
आँधे लोगन जइसे घुमत रहेन।
उ पचे रकत स रिती क अनुसार गंदे होइ ग रहेन।
यह बरे कउनो भी ओनकर ओढ़ना तलक नाहीं छुअत रहा।
15 लोग ओन लोगन पइ चिचिआइके कहत रहेन, “दूर हटा!
तू पचे अपवित्तर अहा, दूर हटा, दूर हटा! हमका जिन छुआ!”
उ सबइ लोग बिना घर-बार क भटकत रहेन।
दूसर देसन क लोग कहा करत रहेन,
“हम नाहीं चाहि कि उ पचे हमरे लगे रहेन।”
16 उ सबइ लोग खुद यहोवा क जरिये ही बिखेर दीन्ह गए रहेन।
उ ओनकी कइँती फुन कबहुँ नाहीं लखेन।
उ याजकन क आदर नाहीं दिहन।
यहूदा क मुखिया लोगन क संग उ दोस्ती स नाहीं रहा।
17 मदद पावइ क बाट जोहत-जोहत आपन आँखिन काम करब बंद किहन, अउर अब हमार आँखिन थक गइन ह।
किन्तु कउनो भी सहायता नाहीं आई।
हम प्रतीच्छा करत रहे कि कउनो अइसी जाति आवइ तउ हमका बचाइ लेइ।
हम आपन निगरानी बुर्जा स लखत रहि गए।
किन्तु कउनो भी हमका बचाएस नाहीं।
18 हर समइ दुस्मन हमरे पाछे पड़े रहेन हिआँ तलक कि हम बाहेर गली मँ भी निकर नाहीं पाए।
हमार अंत निअरे आवा।
हमार समय पुरा होइ चुका रहा।
हमार अंत आइ गवा।
19 हम लोगन क पाछा करइवालन क गति
उकाब क गति स तेज रही।
ओ लोग पहाड़न क भीतर हम पचन्क पाछा किहना।
उ पचे हमका धरइ क रेगिस्तान मँ लुका-छिपा रहेन।
20 उ राजा जउन हमरी नाकन क भीतर हमार प्राण रहा,
गडढा मँ फँसाइ लीन्ह गवा रहा,
उ राजा अइसा मनई रहा
जेका यहोवा खुद चुने रहा।
राजा क बारे मँ हम कहे रहे,
“ओकरी छत्र-छाया मँ हम जिअत रहब,
ओकरी छाया मँ हम जातियन क बीच जिअत रहब।”
21 एदोम क लोगो, खुस रहा अउर आनन्द मँ रहा।
हे ऊज क निवासी लोगो, खुस रहा।
किन्तु सदा याद रखा, तोहरे पास भी यहोवा क किरोध क पियाला आइ।
जब तू ओका पीब्या,
धुत होइ जाब्या अउर खुद क नंगा कइ डउब्या।
22 सिय्योन, तोहार दण्ड पुरा भावा।
अब फुन स तू कबहुँ बंधन मँ नाहीं पड़बिउ।
किन्तु हे एदोम क लोगो, यहोवा तोहरे पापन क दण्ड देइ।
तोहरे पापन क उ उघाड़ देइ।

4 [a]How the gold has lost its luster,
the fine gold become dull!
The sacred gems are scattered
at every street corner.(A)
2 How the precious children of Zion,(B)
once worth their weight in gold,
are now considered as pots of clay,
the work of a potter’s hands!
3 Even jackals offer their breasts
to nurse their young,
but my people have become heartless
like ostriches in the desert.(C)
4 Because of thirst(D) the infant’s tongue
sticks to the roof of its mouth;(E)
the children beg for bread,
but no one gives it to them.(F)
5 Those who once ate delicacies
are destitute in the streets.
Those brought up in royal purple(G)
now lie on ash heaps.(H)
6 The punishment of my people
is greater than that of Sodom,(I)
which was overthrown in a moment
without a hand turned to help her.
7 Their princes were brighter than snow
and whiter than milk,
their bodies more ruddy than rubies,
their appearance like lapis lazuli.
8 But now they are blacker(J) than soot;
they are not recognized in the streets.
Their skin has shriveled on their bones;(K)
it has become as dry as a stick.
9 Those killed by the sword are better off
than those who die of famine;(L)
racked with hunger, they waste away
for lack of food from the field.(M)
10 With their own hands compassionate women
have cooked their own children,(N)
who became their food
when my people were destroyed.
11 The Lord has given full vent to his wrath;(O)
he has poured out(P) his fierce anger.(Q)
He kindled a fire(R) in Zion
that consumed her foundations.(S)
12 The kings of the earth did not believe,
nor did any of the peoples of the world,
that enemies and foes could enter
the gates of Jerusalem.(T)
13 But it happened because of the sins of her prophets
and the iniquities of her priests,(U)
who shed within her
the blood(V) of the righteous.
14 Now they grope through the streets
as if they were blind.(W)
They are so defiled with blood(X)
that no one dares to touch their garments.
15 “Go away! You are unclean!” people cry to them.
“Away! Away! Don’t touch us!”
When they flee and wander(Y) about,
people among the nations say,
“They can stay here no longer.”(Z)
16 The Lord himself has scattered them;
he no longer watches over them.(AA)
The priests are shown no honor,
the elders(AB) no favor.(AC)
17 Moreover, our eyes failed,
looking in vain(AD) for help;(AE)
from our towers we watched
for a nation(AF) that could not save us.
18 People stalked us at every step,
so we could not walk in our streets.
Our end was near, our days were numbered,
for our end had come.(AG)
19 Our pursuers were swifter
than eagles(AH) in the sky;
they chased us(AI) over the mountains
and lay in wait for us in the desert.(AJ)
20 The Lord’s anointed,(AK) our very life breath,
was caught in their traps.(AL)
We thought that under his shadow(AM)
we would live among the nations.
