³⁵ Now a man from ^(A)the sons of the prophets said to ^[a]another ^(B)by the word of the Lord, “Please strike me.” But the man refused to strike him.

³ Then ^(A)the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel went out to Elisha and said to him, “Are you aware that the Lord will take away your master from over ^[a]you today?” And he said, “Yes, I am aware; say nothing about it.”

⁵ Then ^(A)the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho approached Elisha and said to him, “^(B)Do you know that the Lord will take away your master from over ^[a]you today?” And he ^[b]answered, “Yes, I know; say nothing about it.”

³⁸ When Elisha returned to ^(A)Gilgal, there was ^(B)a famine in the land. ^[a]As ^(C)the sons of the prophets ^(D)were sitting in front of him, he said to his servant, “^(E)Put on the large pot and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”
