Then (A)David said to (B)Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, “Please bring me the ephod.” So Abiathar brought the ephod to David. And (C)David inquired of the Lord, saying, “(D)Shall I pursue this band of raiders? Will I overtake them?” And He said to him, “Pursue, for you will certainly overtake them, (E)and you will certainly rescue everyone.” So David left, (F)he and the six hundred men who were with him, and they came to the brook Besor, where some who were left behind stayed.

Then David said to Abiathar(A) the priest, the son of Ahimelek, “Bring me the ephod.(B)” Abiathar brought it to him, and David inquired(C) of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?”

“Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed(D) in the rescue.(E)

David and the six hundred men(F) with him came to the Besor Valley, where some stayed behind.
