It is God’s will(A) that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;(B) that each of you should learn to control your own body[a](C) in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust(D) like the pagans,(E) who do not know God;(F) and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister.[b](G) The Lord will punish(H) all those who commit such sins,(I) as we told you and warned you before. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.(J) Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit.(K)

For this is (A)the will of God, (B)your sanctification: (C)that you should abstain from sexual immorality; (D)that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, (E)not in passion of lust, (F)like the Gentiles (G)who do not know God; that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord (H)is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you (A)abstain from sexual immorality; that (B)each of you know how to [a]possess his own [b](C)vessel in sanctification and (D)honor, not in [c](E)lustful passion, like the Gentiles who (F)do not know God; and that no one violate the rights and (G)take advantage of his brother or sister (H)in the matter, because (I)the Lord is the avenger in all these things, just as we also (J)told you previously and solemnly warned you. 4. 1 Thessalonians 4:7 I.e., moral corruption

For this is the will of God, that you be sanctified [separated and set apart from sin]: that you abstain and back away from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor [being available for God’s purpose and separated from things profane], not [to be used] in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God and are ignorant of His will; and that [in this matter of sexual misconduct] no man shall transgress and defraud his brother because the Lord is the avenger in all these things, just as we have told you before and solemnly warned you. For God has not called us to impurity, but to holiness [to be dedicated, and set apart by behavior that pleases Him, whether in public or in private]. So whoever rejects and disregards this is not [merely] rejecting man but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you [to dwell in you and empower you to overcome temptation].
