^4 (A)And he built altars in the house of Yahweh, of which Yahweh had said, “^(B)In Jerusalem I will put My name.”

⁷ Then ^(A)he put the graven image of Asherah, which he had made, in the house of which Yahweh had said to David and to Solomon his son, “^(B)In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever.

¹¹ So as I live,’ declares Lord Yahweh, ‘surely, because you have ^(A)defiled My sanctuary with all your ^(B)detestable idols and with all your abominations, therefore I will also withdraw, and My eye will have no pity, and I will not spare.

The Temple Profaned

²⁰ They ^[a]transformed the beauty of His ornaments into pride, and ^(A)they made the images of their abominations and their detestable things with it; therefore I will make it an impure thing to them.
