³² When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his couch.^{(A) 33} He went in, shut the door on the two of them and prayed^(B) to the Lord. ³⁴ Then he got on the bed and lay on the boy, mouth to mouth, eyes to eyes, hands to hands. As he stretched^(C) himself out on him, the boy’s body grew warm. ³⁵ Elisha turned away and walked back and forth in the room and then got on the bed and stretched out on him once more. The boy sneezed seven times^(D) and opened his eyes.^(E)

³⁶ Elisha summoned Gehazi and said, “Call the Shunammite.” And he did. When she came, he said, “Take your son.”^{(F) 37} She came in, fell at his feet and bowed to the ground. Then she took her son and went out.

⁵ For there is one God^(A) and one mediator^(B) between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,^{(C) 6} who gave himself as a ransom^(D) for all people. This has now been witnessed to^(E) at the proper time.^{(F) 7} And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying^(G)—and a true and faithful teacher^(H) of the Gentiles.^(I)

⁸ Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands^(J) without anger or disputing. ⁹ I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,^{(K) 10} but with good deeds,^(L) appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

¹¹ A woman^[a] should learn in quietness and full submission.^(M)
