4 A soldier wants to please his commanding officer, so he does not waste his time doing the things that most people do. 5 If an athlete is running a race, he must obey all the rules in order to win. 6 The farmer who works hard should be the first person to get some of the food that he grew.

4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. 5 Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown(A) except by competing according to the rules. 6 The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops.(B)
