International Standard Version
2 Timothy[a] was highly regarded by the brothers in Lystra and Iconium. 3 Paul wanted this man to go with him, so he took him and had him circumcised because of the Jews who lived in that region, since everyone knew that Timothy’s[b] father was a Greek. 4 As they went from town to town, they delivered the decisions reached by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem for them to obey.

New International Version
2 The believers(A) at Lystra and Iconium(B) spoke well of him. 3 Paul wanted to take him along on the journey, so he circumcised him because of the Jews who lived in that area, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.(C) 4 As they traveled from town to town, they delivered the decisions reached by the apostles and elders(D) in Jerusalem(E) for the people to obey.(F)
