There the centurion found an Alexandrian ship(A) sailing for Italy(B) and put us on board. We made slow headway for many days and had difficulty arriving off Cnidus. When the wind did not allow us to hold our course,(C) we sailed to the lee of Crete,(D) opposite Salmone. We moved along the coast with difficulty and came to a place called Fair Havens, near the town of Lasea.

And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;

And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.
