17 To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding(A) of all kinds of literature and learning.(B) And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds.(C)

18 At the end of the time(D) set by the king to bring them into his service, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar. 19 The king talked with them, and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king’s service.(E) 20 In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians(F) and enchanters in his whole kingdom.(G)

21 And Daniel remained there until the first year of King Cyrus.(H)

15 “Look, I come like a thief!(A) Blessed is the one who stays awake(B) and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.”(C)

16 Then they gathered the kings together(D) to the place that in Hebrew(E) is called Armageddon.(F)

17 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air,(G) and out of the temple(H) came a loud voice(I) from the throne, saying, “It is done!”(J) 18 Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder(K) and a severe earthquake.(L) No earthquake like it has ever occurred since mankind has been on earth,(M) so tremendous was the quake. 19 The great city(N) split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered(O) Babylon the Great(P) and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath.(Q) 20 Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found.(R) 21 From the sky huge hailstones,(S) each weighing about a hundred pounds,[a] fell on people. And they cursed God(T) on account of the plague of hail,(U) because the plague was so terrible.
