Deuteronomy 17:17

New International Version

¹⁷He must not take many wives,^(A) or his heart will be led astray.^(B) He must not accumulate^(C) large amounts of silver and gold.^(D)

¹⁷Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

¹³After he left Hebron, David took more concubines and wives^(A) in Jerusalem, and more sons and daughters were born to him.

¹³And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
