⁸You are not to do as we do here today, everyone doing as they see fit,^(A)

Deuteronomy 12:8

⁸Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.

⁵Trust in the Lord^(A) with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

⁵Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

¹²There is a way that appears to be right,^(A)
but in the end it leads to death.^(B)
