²⁴ After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side^[a] of the Garden of Eden^(A) cherubim^(B) and a flaming sword^(C) flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.^(D)

¹⁷ He said to me, “Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial matter for the people of Judah to do the detestable things^(A) they are doing here? Must they also fill the land with violence^(B) and continually arouse my anger?^(C) Look at them putting the branch to their nose!

¹² “‘Tarshish^(A) did business with you because of your great wealth of goods;^(B) they exchanged silver, iron, tin and lead for your merchandise.
