Ezekiel’s Call to Be a Prophet

2 He said to me, “Son of man,^[a](A) stand^(B) up on your feet and I will speak to you.^(C)”

⁶ And he said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they are doing—the utterly detestable^(A) things the Israelites are doing here, things that will drive me far from my sanctuary?^(B) But you will see things that are even more detestable.”

⁴ The man said to me, “Son of man, look carefully and listen closely and pay attention to everything I am going to show you,^(A) for that is why you have been brought here. Tell^(B) the people of Israel everything you see.^(C)”

⁵ The Lord said to me, “Son of man, look carefully, listen closely and give attention to everything I tell you concerning all the regulations and instructions regarding the temple of the Lord. Give attention to the entrance^(A) to the temple and all the exits of the sanctuary.^(B)
