32 These are the families of Noe, according to their peoples and nations. By these were the nations divided on the earth after the flood.
11 And the earth was of one tongue, and of the same speech.
2 And when they removed from the east, they found a plain in the land of Sennaar, and dwelt in it.
3 And each one said to his neighbour: Come, let us make brick, and bake them with fire. And they had brick instead of stones, and slime instead of mortar.
4 And they said: Come, let us make a city and a tower, the top whereof may reach to heaven: and let us make our name famous before we be scattered abroad into all lands.
5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of Adam were building.
6 And he said: Behold, it is one people, and all have one tongue: and they have begun to do this, neither will they leave off from their designs, till they accomplish them in deed.
7 Come ye, therefore, let us go down, and there confound their tongue, that they may not understand one another's speech.
8 And so the Lord scattered them from that place into all lands, and they ceased to build the city.
9 And therefore the name thereof was called Babel, because there the language of the whole earth was confounded: and from thence the Lord scattered them abroad upon the face of all countries.

32 These are the clans of Noah’s sons,(A) according to their lines of descent, within their nations. From these the nations spread out over the earth(B) after the flood.
The Tower of Babel
11 Now the whole world had one language(C) and a common speech. 2 As people moved eastward,[a] they found a plain in Shinar[b](D) and settled there.
3 They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks(E) and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone,(F) and tar(G) for mortar. 4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens,(H) so that we may make a name(I) for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered(J) over the face of the whole earth.”(K)
5 But the Lord came down(L) to see the city and the tower the people were building. 6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language(M) they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us(N) go down(O) and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”(P)
8 So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth,(Q) and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it was called Babel[c](R)—because there the Lord confused the language(S) of the whole world.(T) From there the Lord scattered(U) them over the face of the whole earth.

20 He that walketh with the wise, shall be wise: a friend of fools shall become like to them.
21 Evil pursueth sinners: and to the just good shall be repaid.
22 The good man leaveth heirs, sons, and grandsons: and the substance of the sinner is kept for the just.
23 Much food is in the tillage of fathers: but for others it is gathered with out judgment.
24 He that spareth the rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him correcteth him betimes.
25 The just eateth and filleth his soul: but the belly of the wicked is never to be filled.
14 A wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish will pull down with her hands that also which is built.
2 He that walketh in the right way, and feareth God, Cis despised by him that goeth by an infamous way.
3 In the mouth of a fool is the rod of pride: but the lips of the wise preserve them.
4 Where there are no oxen, the crib is empty: but where there is much corn, there the strength of the ox is manifest.
5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a deceitful witness uttereth a lie.
6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: the learning of the wise is easy.

20 Walk with the wise and become wise,
for a companion of fools suffers harm.(A)
22 A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children,
but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.(E)
23 An unplowed field produces food for the poor,
but injustice sweeps it away.
24 Whoever spares the rod(F) hates their children,
but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline(G) them.(H)
25 The righteous eat to their hearts’ content,
but the stomach of the wicked goes hungry.(I)
14 The wise woman builds her house,(J)
but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.
2 Whoever fears the Lord walks uprightly,
but those who despise him are devious in their ways.
4 Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty,
but from the strength of an ox(M) come abundant harvests.
5 An honest witness does not deceive,
but a false witness pours out lies.(N)
6 The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none,
but knowledge comes easily to the discerning.(O)
