Genesis 32:30-32
Young's Literal Translation
30 And Jacob calleth the name of the place Peniel: for `I have seen God face unto face, and my life is delivered;'
31 and the sun riseth on him when he hath passed over Penuel, and he is halting on his thigh;
32 therefore the sons of Israel do not eat the sinew which shrank, which [is] on the hollow of the thigh, unto this day, because He came against the hollow of Jacob's thigh, against the sinew which shrank.

Genesis 32:30-32
New International Version
30 So Jacob called the place Peniel,[a] saying, “It is because I saw God face to face,(A) and yet my life was spared.”
31 The sun rose above him as he passed Peniel,[b](B) and he was limping because of his hip. 32 Therefore to this day the Israelites do not eat the tendon attached to the socket of the hip,(C) because the socket of Jacob’s hip was touched near the tendon.
