5 For your lifeblood I will most certainly require an accounting; from every animal [that kills a person] I will require it. And from man, from every man’s brother [that is, anyone who murders] I will require the life of man.(A)

“Whoever sheds man’s blood [unlawfully],
By man (judicial government) shall his blood be shed,
For in the image of God
He made man.(B)

“As for you, be fruitful and multiply;
Populate the earth abundantly and multiply in it.”

5 And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting.(A) I will demand an accounting from every animal.(B) And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.(C)

by humans shall their blood be shed;(D)

has God made mankind.
7 As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.”(F)
