8 but if it persistently produces thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned.(A)

9 But, beloved, even though we speak to you in this way, [a]we are convinced of better things concerning you, and of things that accompany salvation. 10 For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown for His name in ministering to [the needs of] the saints (God’s people), as you do.

8 But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed.(A) In the end it will be burned.
9 Even though we speak like this, dear friends,(B) we are convinced of better things in your case—the things that have to do with salvation. 10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.(C)
