Hebrews 3:9-11

⁹where your fathers put me to the test
and saw my works for forty years.
¹⁰Therefore I was provoked with that generation,
and said, ‘They always go astray in their hearts;
they have not known my ways.’
¹¹As I swore in my wrath,

3.11 Those who murmured against God in the desert were excluded from the promised land (the “rest”). Christians should beware lest, by offending God, they be excluded from heaven, the true rest, of which the promised land was a type.
