Isaiah 50:3-5
International Children’s Bible

3 I can make the skies dark.
    I can make them black like clothes of sadness.”

God’s Servant Obeys

4 The Lord God gave me the ability to teach.
    He has taught me what to say to make the weak strong.
Every morning he wakes me.
    He teaches me to listen like a student.
5 The Lord God helps me learn.
    And I have not turned against him.
    I have not stopped following him.

3 I clothe the heavens with darkness(A)
    and make sackcloth(B) its covering.”

4 The Sovereign Lord(C) has given me a well-instructed tongue,(D)
    to know the word that sustains the weary.(E)
He wakens me morning by morning,(F)
    wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.(G)
5 The Sovereign Lord(H) has opened my ears;(I)
    I have not been rebellious,(J)
    I have not turned away.
