Isaiah 8:7-10
New American Standard Bible
7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord is about to bring on them the (A)strong and abundant waters of the (B)Euphrates River,
That is, the (C)king of Assyria and all his glory;
And it will (D)rise over all its channels and go over all its banks.
8 Then (E)it will sweep on into Judah, it will overflow and pass through,
It will (F)reach as far as the neck;
And the spread of its wings will [a]fill the expanse of [b]your land, (G)Immanuel.
A Believing Remnant
9 “(H)Be broken, you peoples, and be [c](I)shattered;
And listen, all remote places of the earth.
[d]Get ready, yet be [e]shattered;
[f]Get ready, yet be [g]shattered.
10 (J)Devise a plan, but it will fail;
State a [h]proposal, but (K)it will not stand,
For [i](L)God is with us.”
