1 ¶ Mwen menm Jak, sèvitè Bondye ak Jezikri Seyè nou an, m'ap ekri lèt sa a pou douz branch fanmi yo ki gaye toupatou sou latè. Bonjou pou nou tout.
2 ¶ Frè m' yo, se pou nou santi nou kontan anpil lè nou wè nou tonbe anba nenpòt kalite eprèv.
3 Paske, nou konnen byen, lè konfyans nou gen nan Bondye a tonbe anba eprèv, sa ban nou pasyans.
4 Men, fòk pasyans sa a fin fè travay li nèt pou nou kapab bon nèt sou tout pwen, byen devlope, san nou pa manke anyen.
5 Si yon moun pami nou manke bon konprann, se pou l' mande Bondye, Bondye va ba li li. Paske, Bondye bay tout moun san mezire, pou gremesi.
6 Men, se pou li mande ak konfyans, san l' pa gen doutans. Paske, moun ki gen doutans, li tankou lanm lanmè van ap boulvèse.
7 Yon moun konsa pa bezwen mete nan tèt li l'ap resevwa anyen nan men Seyè a.
8 Se yon moun ki pa konnen sa li vle, ki toujou ap chanje lide nan tou sa l'ap fè.
9 Yon frè ki pòv dwe moutre jan li kontan lè Bondye fè kichòy pou li.
10 Konsa tou, yon frè ki rich dwe moutre jan l' kontan tou lè Bondye rabese li. Paske, moun ki rich gen pou pase tankou flè zèb.
11 Solèy la leve ak tout chalè li. Li cheche zèb la. Flè a tonbe. Tout bèlte l' disparèt. Konsa tou, moun rich la gen pou l' disparèt pandan tout kòmès li ap mache.
12 benediksyon pou moun ki sipòte eprèv li ak pasyans. Lè la fin pase anba eprèv yo, la resevwa pou rekonpans lavi Bondye te pwomèt tout moun ki renmen li yo.
13 ¶ Lè eprèv tonbe sou yon moun, lè l' anba tantasyon, moun sa a pa dwe di se Bondye k'ap tante li. Paske, menm jan Bondye pa janm anba tantasyon pou fè sa ki mal, konsa tou Bondye pa ka tante pesonn pou fè l' fè sa ki mal.
14 Men, lè yon moun anba tantasyon, se pwòp move dezi moun lan k'ap rale l', k'ap pouse li.
15 Konsa, move dezi a travay nan kè li, li fè l' fè peche. Lè peche a fin fèt, li bay lanmò.
16 Frè mwen renmen anpil yo, pa twonpe tèt nou sou bagay sa a.
17 Tout pi bèl favè, tout pi bon kado nou resevwa, se anwo nan syèl la yo soti, nan men Bondye ki kreye tout limyè. Bondye pa janm chanje, ni li pa gen anyen ki ta ka sanble yon chanjman nan li.
18 Gremesi pawòl verite a, li ban nou lavi jan l' te vle l' la, pou nou kapab gen premye plas nan tou sa li kreye.
19 ¶ Frè mwen renmen anpil yo, men yon bagay pou nou toujou chonje. Se pou tout moun prese louvri zòrèy yo pou yo ka tande. Men, pa kouri pale, pa prese fè kòlè.
20 Paske, kòlè lèzòm pa ka fè volonte Bondye.
21 Se poutèt sa, derasinen tout vye abitid ki pa dakò ak volonte Bondye ansanm ak tout kras mechanste ki nan lavi nou, voye yo jete. Soumèt nou devan Bondye, asepte pawòl li te plante nan kè nou an, paske se pawòl sa a ki ka sove nanm nou.
22 Se pou nou fè tou sa pawòl la mande nou fè. Pa rete ap koute ase. Lè sa a, se pwòp tèt nou n'ap twonpe.
23 Paske, lè yon moun tande pawòl la ase, san li pa fè sa pawòl la mande l' fè, li tankou yon moun ki gade figi l' nan yon glas.
24 Men, kou l' vire do l' ale, lamenm li bliye kisa li sanble.
25 Men, moun ki fikse je l' sou lalwa ki bon nèt la, lalwa ki bay libète a, si l' soti pou l' fè sa lalwa a mande, si li pa yon moun ki kite pawòl la antre nan yon zòrèy soti nan yon lòt, men ki fè sa lalwa a mande, moun sa a va jwenn benediksyon nan sa l'ap fè a.
26 Si yon moun kwè l'ap sèvi Bondye, pou anmenmtan li pa bride lang li, se tèt li l'ap twonpe. Sèvi Bondye jan sa a pa vo anyen.
27 Men jan pou nou sèvi Bondye Papa a, si nou vle sèvi l' yon jan ki dakò ak volonte Bondye, yon jan ki bon tout bon devan li: SE pòte sekou bay timoun ki san papa. Se bay vèv yo lasistans lè yo nan lafliksyon. Se pa mele nan move bagay k'ap fèt sou latè pou nou pa pèdi kondisyon nou.

Mwen voye lèt sa a pou tout pèp Bondye a[a] ki gaye toupatou sou latè.
Lafwa ak sajès
2 Frè m ak sè m yo, lè nou rankontre tout kalite pwoblèm nan lavi a, se pou n gade tèt nou kòm moun ki byenere. 3 Paske, nou konnen sa, lè lafwa w rankontre eprèv, ou aprann gen pasyans nan soufrans yo. 4 Lòske pasyans lan fè travay li nan ou, l ap pote bon rezilta. Ou ap vin yon moun ki gen matirite epi byen fòme. Ou ap vin egzateman jan Bondye vle w ye, san manke anyen.
5 Si yon moun pami nou ta renmen genyen sajès, li dwe mande Bondye l, epi Bondye ap bali l. Lè Bondye bay, li bay an kantite, san l pa fè moun nan repwòch. 6 Men lè w mande Bondye, ou dwe fè l konfyans, san w pa gen dout sou li. Nenpòt moun k ap doute, li sanble ak gwo lanm lanmè yon van ap leve voye anlè. 7-8 Yon moun konsa pa bezwen kwè l ap jwenn kèk bagay nan men Senyè a, se yon moun ki pa konnen sa l vle, k ap woule de bò.
Vrè richès
9 Yon frè ou yon sè ki pa rich, li ta dwe santi l fyè konsa, paske Bondye ba l yon plas ki enpòtan. 10 Yon frè ou yon sè ki rich, li dwe santi l fyè, lè sitiyasyon lavi a imilye l. Richès yo p ap fè yo viv pou tout tan, y ap disparèt menm jan ak flè pye bwa nan raje. 11 Solèy leve ak gwo chalè, li seche plant lan, flè a tonbe epi li pèdi tout bèlte l. Se menm jan an tou, gen yon jou, moun rich la ap pase ak tout aktivite l yo.
Tantasyon pa soti nan Bondye
12 Moun ki reziste anba gwo tantasyon lavi a, se moun ki byenere! Lè yo fin bay prèv lafwa yo konsa, Bondye ap rekonpanse yo ak kouwòn[b] lavi a. Se pwomès sa a Bondye fè tout moun ki renmen l yo. 13 Lè yon moun anvi fè yon bagay ki mal, li pa dwe di se Bondye k ap pouse l fè sa ki mal. Bondye pa kapab anvi fè sa ki mal epi li p ap tante pèsòn pou fè l fè sa ki mal. 14 Yon moun tante fè sa ki mal, lè l kite pwòp dezi l ki pa bon epi k ap mennen l epi trennen l. 15 Se move dezi sa a ki pran nesans nan moun nan epi fè l komèt peche a. Peche a menm grandi epi li mennen nan lanmò.
16 Frè ak sè byeneme m yo, an n pa twonpe tèt nou. 17 Tout bagay ki san fot, se nan Bondye l soti. Tout bon kado, se an wo nan syèl yo soti. Se Bondye ki bay yo. Se li ki kreye solèy la ak zetwal yo. Bondye pa konn chanje menm jan ak lonbraj limyè fè chanje, li pa menm konn varye nan pozisyon l. 18 Bondye te deside ban nou lavi[c] pa mwayen mesaj verite a. Li te vle pou nou pi enpòtan pou li pase tout sa li te kreye yo.

19 Tande sa, frè ak sè byeneme m yo: Se pou chak moun toujou prèt pou l koute, san l pa kouri pale, san l pa kouri fè kòlè. 20 Kout kòlè yon nonm fè pa ka ede Bondye fè jistis li. 21 Poutèt sa, voye jete tout sa ki pa bon, tout kalite move bagay w ap fè nan lavi w yo. Imilye w devan ansèyman Bondye ki te plante nan kè w la. Paske ansèyman sa a gen pouvwa pou l sove w.
22 Mete pawòl Bondye yo an pratik. Pa sèlman koute yo. Sinon, se twonpe w ap twonpe tèt ou. 23 Lè yon moun koute ansèyman pawòl Bondye yo, san l pa mete yo an pratik, se menm jan ak yon moun ki gade figi li nan yon glas epi ki wè kijan figi l ye. 24 Lè l fini, li pati epi li bliye kijan figi l te ye. 25 Men, lè w plonje je w nan pawòl Bondye a ki libere moun, lè w fè atansyon ak sa l di, ou fè sa l mande w, se pa sèlman koute epi pou bliye, ou ap jwenn benediksyon Bondye nan tout sa w ap fè.
Pi bon fason pou adore Bondye
26 Ou kapab santi w ap sèvi Bondye byen. Men si w pa gen kontwòl lang ou, w ap twonpe tèt ou. Adorasyon w lan san valè. 27 Adorasyon Bondye vle a, men li: Pran swen òfelen yo ak vèv yo ki nan bezwen epi kenbe tèt ou pou w pa tonbe anba enfliyans mond lan. Se bon jan adorasyon konsa Bondye aksepte.

1 James,(A) a servant of God(B) and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
To the twelve tribes(C) scattered(D) among the nations:
Greetings.(E)
Trials and Temptations
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds,(F) 3 because you know that the testing of your faith(G) produces perseverance.(H) 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature(I) and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God,(J) who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.(K) 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt,(L) because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded(M) and unstable(N) in all they do.
9 Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position.(O) 10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower.(P) 11 For the sun rises with scorching heat(Q) and withers(R) the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed.(S) In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.
12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial(T) because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life(U) that the Lord has promised to those who love him.(V)
13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own(W) evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin;(X) and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.(Y)
16 Don’t be deceived,(Z) my dear brothers and sisters.(AA) 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above,(AB) coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,(AC) who does not change(AD) like shifting shadows. 18 He chose to give us birth(AE) through the word of truth,(AF) that we might be a kind of firstfruits(AG) of all he created.
Listening and Doing
19 My dear brothers and sisters,(AH) take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak(AI) and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger(AJ) does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of(AK) all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you,(AL) which can save you.
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.(AM) 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom,(AN) and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.(AO)
26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues(AP) deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after(AQ) orphans and widows(AR) in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.(AS)
