And let [a](A)endurance have its perfect [b]result, so that you may be [c](B)perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

But if any of you (C)lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and [d]without reproach, and (D)it will be given to him. But he must (E)ask in faith (F)without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, (G)driven and tossed by the wind. For that person ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a (H)[e]double-minded man, (I)unstable in all his ways.

(J)Now the brother or sister of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position; 10 but the rich person is to glory in his [f]humiliation, because (K)like [g]flowering grass he will pass away. 11 For the sun rises with (L)its scorching heat and (M)withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so also the rich person, in the midst of his pursuits, will die out.

12 (N)Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has [h]been approved, he will receive (O)the crown of life which the Lord (P)has promised to those who (Q)love Him.

Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature(A) and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God,(B) who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.(C) But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt,(D) because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded(E) and unstable(F) in all they do.

Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position.(G) 10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower.(H) 11 For the sun rises with scorching heat(I) and withers(J) the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed.(K) In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial(L) because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life(M) that the Lord has promised to those who love him.(N)

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
