14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem [a]filthiness: they commit adultery and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of the wicked, that none can return from his wickedness: they are all [b]unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

15 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets, Behold, I will feed them with [c]wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is [d]wickedness gone forth into all the land.

16 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Hear not the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you, and teach you vanity: they speak the vision of their own [e]heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord.

14 And among the prophets of Jerusalem
    I have seen something horrible:(A)

    so that not one of them turns from their wickedness.(D)
They are all like Sodom(E) to me;
    the people of Jerusalem are like Gomorrah.”(F)

15 Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty says concerning the prophets:

“I will make them eat bitter food
    and drink poisoned water,(G)
because from the prophets of Jerusalem
    ungodliness(H) has spread throughout the land.”

16 This is what the Lord Almighty says:

“Do not listen(I) to what the prophets are prophesying to you;
    they fill you with false hopes.
They speak visions(J) from their own minds,
    not from the mouth(K) of the Lord.
