⁴ Then the ^(A)officials said to the king, “Now let this man be put to death, inasmuch as he is ^[a](B)discouraging the men of war who are left in this city and ^[b]all the people, by speaking such words to them; for this man ^(C)is not seeking the well-being of this people but rather their harm.”

¹¹ Then they secretly induced men to say, “We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and against God.” ¹² And they stirred up the people, the elders and the scribes, and they ^(A)came up to him and dragged him away and brought him ^[a]before ^(B)the ^[b]Council. ¹³ They put forward ^(C)false witnesses who said, “This man incessantly speaks against this ^(D)holy place and the Law; ¹⁴ for we have heard him say that ^(E)this Nazarene, Jesus, will destroy this place and alter ^(F)the customs which Moses handed down to us.”
