¹⁶ His ^(A)roots are dried below,
And his ^(B)branch withers above.

¹⁹ He has no ^(A)offspring or descendants among his people,
Nor any survivor where he resided.

¹⁰ You will eliminate their ^[a]descendants from the earth,
And their ^[b](A)children from among the sons of mankind.

²⁸ For the Lord ^(A)loves ^[a]justice
And ^(B)does not abandon His godly ones;
They are ^(C)protected forever,
But the ^[b](D)descendants of the wicked will be eliminated.

⁴ Oh, sinful nation,
People weighed down with guilt,
^[a](A)Offspring of evildoers,
Sons who ^(B)act corruptly!
They have ^(C)abandoned the Lord,
They have ^(D)despised the Holy One of Israel,
They have turned away ^[b]from Him.
