¹⁷What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?

That You should set Your heart on him,

³Lord, what are human beings^(A) that you care for them,
mere mortals that you think of them?

³Lord, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!
