5 So Jesus, after raising His eyes and seeing that a large crowd was coming to Him, *said to (A)Philip, “Where are we to buy bread so that these people may eat?” 6 But He was saying this only to (B)test him, for He Himself knew what He intended to do. 7 (C)Philip answered Him, “(D)Two hundred [a]denarii worth of bread is not enough for them, for each to receive just a little!”

5 When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip,(A) “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” 6 He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.
7 Philip answered him, “It would take more than half a year’s wages[a] to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!”
