26 And they raised over him (A)a great heap of stones that remains to this day. Then (B)the Lord turned from his burning anger. Therefore, to this day the name of that place is called the Valley of Achor.[a]

29 (A)And he hanged the king of Ai on a tree until evening. (B)And at sunset Joshua commanded, and they took his body down from the tree and threw it at the entrance of the gate of the city and (C)raised over it a great heap of stones, which stands there to this day.

29 He impaled the body of the king of Ai on a pole and left it there until evening. At sunset,(A) Joshua ordered them to take the body from the pole and throw it down at the entrance of the city gate. And they raised a large pile of rocks(B) over it, which remains to this day.
