³⁰ ‘Thus ^(A)all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, belongs to Yahweh; it is holy to Yahweh.

²⁴ For the tithe of the sons of Israel, which they raise up as a contribution offering to Yahweh, I have given to the Levites for an inheritance; therefore I have said concerning them, ‘^(A)They shall have no inheritance among the sons of Israel.’”

²⁸ “^(A)At the end of every third year you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in that year and shall deposit it within your gates. ²⁹ And the Levite, ^(B)because he has no portion or inheritance among you, and ^(C)the sojourner, the ^[a]orphan, and the widow who are within your gates, shall come and ^(D)eat and be satisfied, in order that ^(E)Yahweh your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

⁵ And those indeed of ^(A)the sons of Levi, who receive the priest’s office, have a commandment ^[a]in the Law to collect ^[b]a tenth from the people, that is, from their brothers, although these ^[c]are descended from Abraham.

⁹ And, so to speak, through Abraham even Levi, who received tithes, paid tithes, ¹⁰ for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him.
