Jesus Brought Before Herod

Now when[a] Pilate heard this,[b] he asked if the man was a Galilean. And when he[c] found out that he was from the jurisdiction of Herod, he sent him over to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem in those days. And when[d] Herod saw Jesus, he was very glad, for he had been wanting to see him for a long time, because he had heard about him and was hoping to see some miracle performed by him.

On hearing this, Pilate asked if the man was a Galilean.(A) When he learned that Jesus was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod,(B) who was also in Jerusalem at that time.

When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased, because for a long time he had been wanting to see him.(C) From what he had heard about him, he hoped to see him perform a sign of some sort.
