Luke 24:19-21
New English Translation
19 He[a] said to them, “What things?” “The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene,” they replied, “a man[b] who, with his powerful deeds and words, proved to be a prophet[c] before God and all the people; 20 and how our chief priests and leaders handed him over[d] to be condemned to death, and crucified[e] him. 21 But we had hoped[f] that he was the one who was going to redeem[g] Israel. Not only this, but it is now the third day since these things happened.

New International Version
19 “What things?” he asked.
“About Jesus of Nazareth,”(A) they replied. “He was a prophet,(B) powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. 20 The chief priests and our rulers(C) handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; 21 but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel.(D) And what is more, it is the third day(E) since all this took place.
