11 this was done by the Lord, and is marvellous in our eyes?

12 And they went about to apprehend him, but they feared the people. For they perceived that he had spoken that similitude against them. And they left him and went their way.

13 And they sent to him certain of the Pharisees, along with Herod’s servants, to take him in his words.

New International Version

11 the Lord has done this,
    and it is marvelous in our eyes’[a]?”(A)

12 Then the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders looked for a way to arrest him because they knew he had spoken the parable against them. But they were afraid of the crowd;(B) so they left him and went away.(C)

Paying the Imperial Tax to Caesar(D)

13 Later they sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians(E) to Jesus to catch him(F) in his words.
