Mark 9:16-18

¹⁶ He asked the scribes,^[a] “What are you arguing about with them?”

¹⁷ A man in the crowd answered him, “Teacher, I brought my son to you. He has a spirit that won’t let him talk. ¹⁸ Whenever it brings on a seizure, it throws him to the ground. Then he foams at the mouth, grinds his teeth, and becomes stiff. So I asked your disciples to drive the spirit^[b] out, but they didn’t have the power.”
