2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he afterward hungered. 3 And the tempter came and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones become [a]bread. 4 But he answered and said, It is written, [b]Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
