16 Even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me help when I needed it. And you did it more than once. 17 It is not that I want your gifts. What I really want is what is best for you. 18 I have received my full pay and have more than enough. I have everything I need. That’s because Epaphroditus brought me the gifts you sent. They are a sweet-smelling offering. They are a gift that God accepts. He is pleased with it.

16 for even when I was in Thessalonica,(A) you sent me aid more than once when I was in need.(B) 17 Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account.(C) 18 I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus(D) the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant(E) offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.
