Proverbs 28:14-16
American Standard Version
14 Happy is the man that feareth alway;
But he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into [a]mischief.
15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear,
So is a wicked ruler over a poor people.
16 [b]The prince that lacketh understanding is also a great oppressor;
But he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.

14 Blessed is the one who always trembles before God,
but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble.
15 Like a roaring lion or a charging bear
is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.
16 A tyrannical ruler practices extortion,
but one who hates ill-gotten gain will enjoy a long reign.
