You, Lord God Almighty,
    you who are the God of Israel,(A)
rouse yourself(B) to punish all the nations;(C)
    show no mercy to wicked traitors.[a](D)

They return at evening,
    snarling like dogs,(E)
    and prowl about the city.
See what they spew from their mouths(F)
    the words from their lips are sharp as swords,(G)
    and they think, “Who can hear us?”(H)
But you laugh at them, Lord;(I)
    you scoff at all those nations.(J)
