35 Na Rawiri. E ngana, e Ihowa, ki te hunga e tohe ana ki ahau: whawhaitia te hunga e whawhai nei ki ahau.
2 Kia mau ki te whakangungu rakau, ki te puapua; whakatika hei awhina moku
3 Unuhia te tao, araia te ara o te hunga e whai nei i ahau: ki mai ki toku wairua, Ko ahau tou whakaoranga.
4 Kia whakama, kia numinumi te hunga e whai ana kia whakamatea ahau: kia whakahokia ki muri, kia whakapoauautia te hunga e whakatakoto ana i te kino moku.
5 Kia rite ratou ki te papapa e puhia ana e te hau; kia aia haeretia e te anahera a Ihowa.
6 Kia pouri to ratou ara, kia pahekeheke: kia whaia ratou e te anahera a Ihowa.
7 Kahore hoki he rawa i huna ai e ratou te poka o ta ratou kupenga moku; he mea keri takekore kia mate ai ahau.
8 Kia rokohanga poauautia ia e te ngaromanga; kia mau ano ko ia i tana kupenga i huna ai: kia taka ia ki taua tino ngaromanga.
9 A ka koa toku wairua ki a Ihowa, ka hari ki tana whakaoranga.
10 Ka ki katoa oku wheua, E Ihowa, ko wai te rite mou, mo te kaiwhakaora o te iti i te tangata e kaha ake ana i a ia, ae o te iti, o te rawakore i tona kaipahua?
11 Whakatika ana nga kaiwhakapae teka: whakawakia ana ahau mo nga mea kihai nei ahau i matau atu.
12 Utua ana e ratou taku pai ki te kino, a whakatupu pani ana toku wairua.
13 Tena ko ahau, i a ratou e mate ana, he kahu taratara toku, waikauwere ana toku wairua, kihai i kai: a hoki mai ana taku inoi ki toku uma.
14 Ko toku ahua me te mea he hoa ia, he teina noku: kupapa noa iho ahau, ano he tangata e tangi ana ki tona whaea.
15 I toku paheketanga ia koa ana ratou, huihui ana; huihui ana nga tangata kino noa iho hei hoariri moku, kihai ano ahau i mohio; haehae ana ratou i ahau, kihai hoki i mutu.
16 Rite tonu ki nga kaiwhakakata o nga hakari, tetea ana o ratou niho ki ahau.
17 E te Ariki, kia pehea te roa o tau titiro kau mai? Whakaorangia toku wairua i a ratou whakangaromanga, taku e aroha nei, i nga raiona.
18 Ka whakawhetai ahau ki a koe i roto i te whakaminenga nui, ka whakamoemiti ki a koe i roto i te iwi maha.
19 Kei hari pokanoa ki ahau oku hoariri; kei whakakini te kanohi o te hunga e kino noa ana ki ahau.
20 Ehara hoki ta ratou i te korero mo te rangimarie; heoi kei te whakatakoto kupu tinihanga ratou mo te hunga ata noho o te whenua.
21 Ina, hamama ana o ratou mangai ki ahau, e ki ana, Ha, ha, kua kite to matou kanohi.
22 Kua kite koe, e Ihowa: kaua ra e wahangu; e te Ariki, kei matara i ahau.
23 Oho ake, e ara ki te whakarite i toku whakawa, ki taku tautohe, e toku Atua, e toku Ariki.
24 Kia rite ki tou tika te whakarite moku, e Ihowa, e toku Atua: kei koa ano ratou ki ahau.
25 Kei mea ratou i roto i o ratou ngakau, Ha, ko ta matou tena i pai ai: kei mea ratou, Kua horomia ia e tatou.
26 Kia whakama, kia numinumi ngatahi, te hunga e koa ana ina he ahau: kia whakakakahuria ki te whakama, ki te numinumi, te hunga e whakakake ana ki ahau.
27 Kia hamama i te hari, kia koa te hunga e pai ana ki taku mahi tika: ae, kia mea tonu, kia whakanuia a Ihowa e whakapai nei ki te ora o tana pononga.
28 A ka korerotia e toku arero tau mahi tika, me te whakamoemiti ki a koe i te ra roa.

Of David.
1 Contend,(A) Lord, with those who contend with me;
fight(B) against those who fight against me.
2 Take up shield(C) and armor;
arise(D) and come to my aid.(E)
3 Brandish spear(F) and javelin[a](G)
against those who pursue me.
Say to me,
“I am your salvation.(H)”
4 May those who seek my life(I)
be disgraced(J) and put to shame;(K)
may those who plot my ruin
be turned back(L) in dismay.
5 May they be like chaff(M) before the wind,
with the angel of the Lord(N) driving them away;
6 may their path be dark and slippery,
with the angel of the Lord pursuing them.
7 Since they hid their net(O) for me without cause(P)
and without cause dug a pit(Q) for me,
8 may ruin overtake them by surprise—(R)
may the net they hid entangle them,
may they fall into the pit,(S) to their ruin.
9 Then my soul will rejoice(T) in the Lord
and delight in his salvation.(U)
10 My whole being will exclaim,
“Who is like you,(V) Lord?
You rescue the poor from those too strong(W) for them,
the poor and needy(X) from those who rob them.”
11 Ruthless witnesses(Y) come forward;
they question me on things I know nothing about.
12 They repay me evil for good(Z)
and leave me like one bereaved.
13 Yet when they were ill, I put on sackcloth(AA)
and humbled myself with fasting.(AB)
When my prayers returned to me unanswered,
14 I went about mourning(AC)
as though for my friend or brother.
I bowed my head in grief
as though weeping for my mother.
15 But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee;(AD)
assailants gathered against me without my knowledge.
They slandered(AE) me without ceasing.
16 Like the ungodly they maliciously mocked;[b](AF)
they gnashed their teeth(AG) at me.
17 How long,(AH) Lord, will you look on?
Rescue me from their ravages,
my precious life(AI) from these lions.(AJ)
18 I will give you thanks in the great assembly;(AK)
among the throngs(AL) I will praise you.(AM)
19 Do not let those gloat over me
who are my enemies(AN) without cause;
do not let those who hate me without reason(AO)
maliciously wink the eye.(AP)
20 They do not speak peaceably,
but devise false accusations(AQ)
against those who live quietly in the land.
21 They sneer(AR) at me and say, “Aha! Aha!(AS)
With our own eyes we have seen it.”
22 Lord, you have seen(AT) this; do not be silent.
Do not be far(AU) from me, Lord.
23 Awake,(AV) and rise(AW) to my defense!
Contend(AX) for me, my God and Lord.
24 Vindicate me in your righteousness, Lord my God;
do not let them gloat(AY) over me.
25 Do not let them think, “Aha,(AZ) just what we wanted!”
or say, “We have swallowed him up.”(BA)
26 May all who gloat(BB) over my distress(BC)
be put to shame(BD) and confusion;
may all who exalt themselves over me(BE)
be clothed with shame and disgrace.
27 May those who delight in my vindication(BF)
shout for joy(BG) and gladness;
may they always say, “The Lord be exalted,
who delights(BH) in the well-being of his servant.”(BI)
