A Christian’s Duties to the State

13 Let everyone submit to the governing authorities,^(A) since there is no authority except from God,^(B) and the authorities that exist are instituted by God.

²⁷ For God has put everything under his feet.^[a](A) Now when it says “everything” is put under him, it is obvious that he who puts everything under him is the exception.

²² who has gone into heaven^(A) and is at the right hand of God^(B) with angels, authorities, and powers subject to him.^(C)
