14 O God, insolent men have (A)risen up against me;
a band of ruthless men seeks my life,
and they do not set you before them.
15 But you, O Lord, are a God (B)merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
16 (C)Turn to me and be gracious to me;
give your strength to (D)your servant,
and save (E)the son of your maidservant.

14 Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God;
ruthless people are trying to kill me—
they have no regard for you.(A)
