12 Veisuunjohtajalle; matalassa äänialassa; Daavidin virsi.
2 Auta, Herra, sillä hurskaat ovat hävinneet, uskolliset ovat kadonneet ihmislasten joukosta.
3 He puhuvat valhetta toinen toisellensa, puhuvat liukkain huulin, kaksimielisin sydämin.
4 Hävittäköön Herra kaikki liukkaat huulet, kielen, joka kerskuen puhuu,
5 ne, jotka sanovat: "Kielemme voimalla me olemme väkevät; huulemme ovat meidän tukemme; kuka on meille herra?"
6 "Kurjien sorron tähden, köyhien huokausten tähden minä nyt nousen", sanoo Herra, "tuon pelastuksen sille, joka sitä huoaten ikävöitsee".
7 Herran sanat ovat selkeitä sanoja, hopeata, joka kirkkaana valuu sulattimesta maahan, seitsenkertaisesti puhdistettua.

1 Help, Lord, for no one is faithful anymore;(A)
those who are loyal have vanished from the human race.
2 Everyone lies(B) to their neighbor;
they flatter with their lips
but harbor deception in their hearts.(C)
3 May the Lord silence all flattering lips(D)
and every boastful tongue—(E)
4 those who say,
“By our tongues we will prevail;(F)
our own lips will defend us—who is lord over us?”
