17 and that no one should be able to buy or to sell except the one having the mark: the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18 Here[a] is wisdom. Let the one having understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number[b] of a man. And his number is six-hundred sixty six.

18 This calls for wisdom.(C) Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man.[a](D) That number is 666.
