Romans 6:3-11

³Know you not that all we, who are baptized in Christ Jesus, are baptized in his death?

⁴For we are buried together with him by baptism into death; that as Christ is risen from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also may walk in newness of life.

⁵For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.

⁶Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin may be destroyed, to the end that we may serve sin no longer.

⁷For he that is dead is justified from sin.

⁸Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall live also together with Christ:

⁹Knowing that Christ rising again from the dead, dieth now no more, death shall no more have dominion over him.

¹⁰For in that he died to sin, he died once; but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God:

¹¹So do you also reckon, that you are dead to sin, but alive unto God, in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:3-11

³Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized^(A) into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? ⁴We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death^(B) in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead^(C) through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.^(D)

⁵For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.^(E) ⁶For we know that our old self^(F) was crucified with him^(G) so that the body ruled by sin^(H) might be done away with,^[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin^(I)— ⁷because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.^(J)

⁸Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.^(K) ⁹For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead,^(L) he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.^(M) ¹⁰The death he died, he died to sin^(N) once for all;^(O) but the life he lives, he lives to God.
