Therefore we have been (A)buried with Him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was (B)raised from the dead through the (C)glory of the Father, so we too may walk in (D)newness of life. For (E)if we have become [a]united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be [b]in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our (F)old [c]self was (G)crucified with Him, in order that our (H)body of sin might be [d]done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for (I)the one who has died is [e]freed from sin.

Now (J)if we have died with Christ, we believe that (K)we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been (L)raised from the dead, [f]is never to die again; (M)death no longer is master over Him. 10 For [g]the death that He died, He died to sin once for all time; but [h]the life that He lives, He lives to [i]God. 11 So you too, consider yourselves to be (N)dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

12 Therefore sin is not to (O)reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, 13 and do not go on (P)presenting [j]the parts of your body to sin as [k]instruments of unrighteousness; but (Q)present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and [l]your body’s parts as [m]instruments of righteousness for God. 14 For (R)sin shall not (S)be master over you, for (T)you are not under [n]the Law but (U)under grace.

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death(A) in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead(B) through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.(C)

For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.(D) For we know that our old self(E) was crucified with him(F) so that the body ruled by sin(G) might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin(H) because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.(I)

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.(J) For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead,(K) he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.(L) 10 The death he died, he died to sin(M) once for all;(N) but the life he lives, he lives to God.

11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin(O) but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign(P) in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness,(Q) but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.(R) 14 For sin shall no longer be your master,(S) because you are not under the law,(T) but under grace.(U)

  1. Romans 6:6 Or be rendered powerless

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
