(1) David’s various victories (18:1-13)

David secures the peace necessary for Solomon to construct the temple. (Note 1Ch 22:9 and the play on the proper name Solomon and the word for peace.) The Lord enables the king to defeat the Philistines, Moabites, Arameans, and Edomites. David dedicates all booty to the temple.
