3. Love in Action (4:9-12)

Paul really does not need to write to the Thessalonians about love. They were taught by God to love each other. Their growth in love is attributable to the sanctifying power of the Spirit.

Even so, Paul urges them to continue their daily occupations. Some men have quit working to wait for the Lord’s return. This group created a needless burden on the church, brought the church into disrepute, and demonstrated a lack of love.
