In quick order, Paul moves from Corinth to its southern port, Cenchreae, where Luke notes Paul’s continued observance of a Jewish holiness vow—the Nazirite vow (Nu 6:1-21; Ac 21:23-24); then to Ephesus, where Paul lays the groundwork for his return visit; on to Caesarea; up to Jerusalem (went up to greet the church—in Palestine one went “up” only to Jerusalem and “down” to everywhere else); and back to Antioch (18:18-22).
